Model Jodie Jackson @faeofthewoods ,
Getting to work with local talent is always a pleasure, and after months of planning we finally got a break in the weather which fitted both our schedules. So it was of to Castlecaulfield old Castle ruins for a unique styled shoot. Jodie has an amazing collection of medieval and historically styled clothing and she recently obtained her armour and crown which she brought along to add to the theme.
The Victory of the fallen was a styled shoot based on a lone surviving warrior retuning to the ruins of her once majestic homestead, Contemplating the loss of her fallen compatriots she is stricken with the mental images of the toils of battle and the contemplation of the future.

Some images are shot in natural light and then of course edited with a bespoke filter i created to match the tone and warmth of image that i had envisaged in the planning stages of the shoot.

@faeofthewoods has had a long standing social account with multiple shoots over the last few years so i highly recommend you go and check out her amazing work and of course give her a follow to show your support.

Jodie had created an amazing battle weary makeup and this added to the emotion and her portrayal of the warrior character, coupled with her amazing naturally curly hair and the fiery stare she was outstanding.

I edited all of the shots purely in lightroom and brought them into photoshop to add the copyight logo.

collaborating with Jodie has proven in the past to be a very fruitful experience as i was lucky enough to have a past studio session with her adorned in one of her amazing historical gowns. The switch to the flip side of warrior came as second nature to her and i was grateful to be chosen for the task of creating some memorable photos.

Having adapted one of my most recently created filters to set the tone i was able to use this across this particular set of images, and still retain the natural full colour shots, allowing me to have a multitude of images to choose from for the blog itself .

With the addition of some remote camera flash, I was able to separate her from the main foreground, concentrating the viewer's eye on her whereabouts within each image.
